The Proposed Tax Cut Rancor and the Riddle of the Day

I am a little confused here…while Republicans and Democrats battle back and forth as to whether to retain the tax cuts, discontinue the tax cuts entirely, or modify the tax cuts in some sliding scale that still hasn’t been settled upon, I am stuck with one simple question….

If keeping the tax cuts will encourage investment and put money into the economy, then why when the tax cuts have been in place for a number of years now, are we not currently seeing those very same investments that the tax cuts are supposed to assure?
